This workshop will explore ways of improvising and composing, having small musical nuclei as a starting point. A short musical phrase or rhythmic motif can generate infinite variations. Forming a musical ensemble, ideas and musical “seeds” will be shared amongst participants, while the workshop will also seek to transfigure an initial inspiration into a fully-fledged composition or into a dynamic improvisation; transforming from one musical nucleus to a harmonious fusion, and from one single seed into a tree of many branches.
